American Baptist Men
Ed Rusk directs this men's fellowship group. It meets quarterly to hear a special speaker after a carry-in dinner. Meetings are held at various American Baptist Churches in the greater Evansville area.

American Baptist Women
This women's missionary group meets monthly from September to April. The ladies usually meet on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. They focus on the missionary and ministry needs of the church. The ladies have a special banquet in the month of May. Sheila Morris leads this group.

Bible Study Groups

Tuesday - The Butler/Burgdorf Group meets at 6:30 p.m.

This group hopes to offer encouragement & mentoring for new believers.

Wednesday - Wednesday Morning Bible Study meets at 10:00 a.m. in the small meeting

room during the school year. This study is led by Pastor Jeff.

- Fellowship Dinner & Bible Study, 5:30 p.m. at the church during the

school year. Dinner is once a month. Study begins at 6:00.

Saturday - This group meets twice a month at 7:00 p.m. following the LifeLifters

service. The current study is based on the book 3:16 by Max Lucado. Call

DivorceCare
This group's mission is to assist those experiencing divorce to face and conquer the many life changes associated with the break up of a marriage. Please pass the word on to any friends, or family that could benefit from this class.

This 13-week course helps Christians learn how to live debt-free.

This 13-week course not only equips believers to assist others through loss, but will provide healing for those experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one.

Pre-Marital Classes
ABE is a marriage-builders church. Pre-marital classes are a requirement for those desiring marriage. Couples can meet individually or in a group. Classes run from 6 to 10 weeks. The classes focus on the meaning and challenges of marriage. Contact the church office (477-1188) for the current schedule.

Middle School & High School

In addition to a weekly Sunday School class at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays, the youth group meets weekly for an activity on Saturdays, 7:00 p.m. (Pre-teens, there's a Sunday School class for you, too, at 10:15 Sunday mornings!)

We're Kidd'n
Tuesdays, 5:30 to 7:30, We're Kidd'n is a fun place for 3-12 year olds! The night starts with dinner, continues with a lesson time, exciting crafts, activities, and some great music. Sometimes We're Kidd'n takes field trips to places like Chuck E. Cheese and Skate World. Contact Robin Duckworth for more details.

Vacation Bible School
We had a great week at sports camp...Heart of a Winner! We played basketball, baseball, soccer and more. Thanks to all of the coaches and leaders.

Adult Choir
Our adult choir sings in the Sunday 8:45 service September through May, with rehearsals on Wednesday evenings at 7:15.

Summer Choir

The adult choir sings once a month during the summer. Everyone is welcome to join us.

Praise Team
As an integral part of the Saturday LifeLifters and Sunday morning 11:00 services, the Praise Team leads the congregation in worship. We enjoy a variety of exciting, uplifting, and moving songs as we praise and worship the Lord! Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings at 6:00, with some additional rehearsal time before the services.

We have state-of-the-art systems and are always looking for more and better ways to share the good news to our community. Many thanks must go to the folks who run the sound and video systems during our services and other events.

Sports

Throughout the year we schedule leagues, scrambles, and teams for a fun time. Let's see what challenges the fall season brings.

Mission Trips

Mission trips to date include El Salvador, Jamaica, Alaska & Washington, D.C. Our most recent mission work was Operation Reclaim -- Hurricane Katrina disaster relief in Pass Christian, Mississippi. Due to Hurricane Gustav, all equipment has been removed from the worksite. Thousands of volunteers have been to the camp and helped care for those in MS.

Fun!

We've had luaus, ice cream socials, and dinners. In 2007 we produced the rock opera Revelation, the ladies enjoyed a Christmas Tea in December, and a dinner theater, Laugh In, in February 2008. Upcoming events include a hog roast, Tales & Scales, and the ABWM fall banquet.

Bus Trips

Our most recent trips have included the Rockettes Christmas Show in Nashville, women's conferences, and sight-seeing trips to New York and out west. For information on upcoming trips, contact us here or call the office at 477-1188.
